The National Wild Turkey Federation was honored to be a part of a roundtable discussion with Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, senior Department of Interior officials and other conservation organizations Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
NWTF CEO Becky Humphries attended the discussions on behalf of the NWTF.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to express our members’ concerns to our representatives in Washington, and the open dialogue on current policy and secretarial orders is extremely important to our conservation efforts,” Humphries said. “We are honored to work alongside many other NGOs, at the request of Secretary Zinke, to contribute to these important issues as we work to Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.”
Topics discussed during the meeting included updates on the implementation of secretarial orders, deferred maintenance and reorganization of the department.
The meeting is the second in a series of roundtable discussions aimed at keeping the lines of communication open between Zinke and conservation organizations.
