NWTF Annual Report
Thirty-five years and more than 7 million wild turkeys later, the NWTF — once only the idea of a few dedicated volunteers — is now considered the gold standard for wild turkey restoration and conservation, as well as
upholding our hunting heritage. Inside the 2007 Annual Report, NWTF's programs, achievements and efforts are highlighted. It's a year in review, a great year of many accomplishments thanks to the hard work and support of more than 500,000 volunteers and partners.
Annual Report files will download in PDF format. The files could take some time to download, so please allow time for each to open.

Volunteers
It's NWTF volunteers, with help from corporate and agency partners, who carry out the work of our organization. Thanks to the efforts of these 500,000 members, the NWTF has enhanced and conserved more than 13.1 million acres of wildlife habitat and created outdoor opportunities for youth, women and people with disabilities.
Families Afield & More Places to Hunt
Families Afield is an initiative to remove barriers for young or novice hunters accompanied by an adult mentor. The project is based on findings taken from the Youth Hunting Report.
The NWTF's More Places to Hunt program seeks to open areas for public enjoyment, especially hunting, through land acquisition, walk-in access programs and access legislation.
Hunting Heritage Super Fund
The NWTF's banquet program has been our fundraising platform since 1985. The banquet program combines fun and fellowship while raising revenue for conservation, hunting and wildlife. Through this program, the NWTF, along with its volunteers and partners, has spent more than $258 million upholding conservation and hunting traditions. Join the NWTF and get involved.
Wild Turkey Partnerships
Check out the private, state, federal and provincial partners who have stepped in and helped the NWTF make a difference for wildlife and conservation.
One Team, One Voice
The One Team, One Voice Leadership Conference in Edgefield, S.C., brought more than 1,000 chapter leaders together to celebrate the comeback of the wild turkey and discuss the NWTF's future.
Reaching Out JAKES and Women in the Outdoors
The NWTF's JAKES and Women in the Outdoors Outreach programs are designed to introduce youth and women to conservation, hunting and the great outdoors. NWTF chapters conduct events to teach participants outdoor skills such as shooting, fishing, camping, outdoor cooking and many others.
Reaching Out Wheelin' Sportsmen NWTF
Wheelin' Sportsmen provides people with disabilities opportunities to experience hunting, fishing and shooting by partnering them with able-bodied men and women.
Our Hunting Heritage
The NWTF is one of the only conservation organizations in the country whose mission statement includes hunting. We know that hunters are the best conservationists. To sustain this time-honored tradition, the NWTF partners with those who champion the hunting tradition and shooting sports including 4-H Shooting Sports, U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance, National Archery in the Schools Program, the National Shooting Sports Foundation and Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation and more.
Flocking Together
Each February, turkey hunters from all walks of life meet for the NWTF's annual National Convention and Sport Show. On this page, we give you the highlights of the turkey party of the year.

Top Awards
Volunteerism and above-the-call-of-duty efforts don't go unnoticed. The NWTF recognized its top volunteers at the 31st annual National Convention and Sport Show in Nashville, Tenn.
Shooting Sports
From hosting one of the largest sporting clays tournaments in the world to sponsoring the 4-H shooting Sports Program and the U.S. Olympic Shooting Team, the NWTF, along with program sponsors, makes a difference in an area that's important to hunting.
Talking Turkey
The NWTF continues to produce top television programming for the Outdoor Channel — "Turkey Call," "Turkey Country" and "Get in the Game." Meanwhile, its seven publications offer everything from turkey hunting tactics and the latest chapter information to wildlife recipes and outdoor adventures available to people with disabilities.
National Habitat Programs
Habitat enhancement is crucial to maintaining wildlife populations. The NWTF has several conservation programs to address habitat improvement on public and private lands.
Regional Habitat Programs
The NWTF has designed eight regional habitat programs to meet the unique conservation needs of each region in North America.
NWTF Canada
There is currently a wild turkey hunting season in four Canadian provinces, and Ontario has expanded the number of permits available as well as times when hunters can hunt. There are more than 6,000 NWTF members in Canada working on behalf of the wild turkey.
NWTF Mexico
The NWTF is now south of the border thanks to Mexico's first NWTF chapter in Aquascalientes. The chapter hosted its first banquet in 2006, attended by more than 200 NWTF volunteers, board and staff members from Mexico, the U.S., Canada and South Africa.
Hunting Heritage Club
This club allows the NWTF to promote better hunting through wildlife habitat management. Through the program, members receive tips to improve their property, while being recognized for their work. Hunting Heritage Club members also receive Get in the Game magazine twice a year.
Wild Turkey Center and Winchester Museum
The Wild Turkey Center and Winchester Museum is considered to be the Mecca of turkey hunting. Visitors from around the world come to see the NWTF's headquarters and stroll through the 7,200 square feet of wild turkey history and know how.
