New Song Opens 2013 Season of 'Turkey Call'

"Turkey Call," the NWTF's flagship television show, is breaking out a new theme song for 2013.

"Waitin' on Tom," a collaboration of singers Tony Young and Scott Ellis, debuted as the show's theme song on the Jan. 1 episode on The Pursuit Channel.

As the title suggests, the song describes the anticipation felt by a hunter waiting on a prize gobbler.

Ellis is an NWTF champion turkey caller. Young and his Tony Young Band have played the Southeast club and festival circuit with performers such as B.B. King, .38 Special, Molly Hatchet and Diamond Rio.

"Turkey Call" airs four times per week: Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.; 1 a.m. on Thursday; 6:30 p.m. Saturday; and 10 p.m. on Sunday. The season debuts with a show featuring NWTF contest winners hunting at the renowned Rafter T Ranch in Sebring, Fla.
