Virginia Tech Wild Turkey Helmets a Hit at Bowl Game

While the NWTF doesn't have an official college football team, Virginia Tech should enjoy a warm spot in the hearts of many of our members.

Though officially known as the Hokies, Virginia Tech sports teams have also been known as the "Gobblers" and used a wild turkey as a mascot.

Virginia Tech switched its "VT" block logo on its helmet for three versions of turkeys in 2012.

The latest version was a hit with many critics. Tech, which had a subpar 7-6 record this season, was 3-0 in games it unveiled a new turkey helmet.
