Welcome to the Kennamer Class

The NWTF has added a new component to its Wild Turkey Records program — the Kennamer Class — named in honor of long-time NWTF Chief Conservation Officer James Earl Kennamer, Ph.D. This designation recognizes outstanding scoring birds in each wild turkey subspecies.

Kennamer is one of the best in conservation, having spent nearly three decades at the helm of the NWTF’s conservation efforts. Under his leadership, the NWTF helped restore wild turkey populations across North America. He also forged beneficial partnerships between hunters and wildlife agencies, corporations and conservation groups.

Each turkey hunter who’s made it to the head of the class, registering top scoring birds through the Wild Turkey Records program, receives a certificate honoring his or her accomplishment.
