Welcome to the NWTF's Wild Turkey Blogs. For those of you unfamiliar with blogs, a blog is an online journal. We'll be blogging about the joys and frustrations of turkey hunting as well as general posts about the NWTF. Be sure to visit often and feel free to leave your comments on each post. About Our Bloggers

Burt Carey

Growing up in Redding, Calif., hunting black-tailed deer became my passion from the first day I could buy a license at 12 years old. We also hunted birds – pheasants, valley quail and doves, mostly – and there was a pig hunt or two involved along the way. I first hunted turkeys in 1991 when I was living in Georgia, and my interest in the big birds has grown ever since. It's my privilege to now work as the NWTF's Editorial Director.

Brian Dowler

I started hunting turkeys with my father in West Virginia and Virginia when I was 12 years old. Since then, I've been gripped by the turkey bug, so much so that when the opportunity to work for the NWTF came about five years ago, I couldn't pass up the offer to move to Edgefield, S.C., to work to help promote conservation and preserve our hunting traditions.

Brent Lawrence

I grew up hunting turkey, deer and ducks in southwest Missouri. I am taking my 8-year-old son hunting for the first time this spring. I am Public Relations and Web Director for the National Wild Turkey Federation and work in Edgefield, SC.
