National Wild Turkey Symposium

The first National Wild Turkey Symposium was held in Memphis, Tenn., in 1959, and has been held every 5 years since. It provides a forum for wild turkey researchers to present and share the results of their current research.

More information on wild turkeys can be found in the proceedings for these symposia than in any other source. They are an excellent reference tool for today's management and research biologists, as well as for anyone else wanting to learn more about wild turkeys. The science of wild turkey management has become steadily more sophisticated, and the symposia proceedings reflect this trend. A compilation of Symposia 1-8 is available on CD from the NWTF, and can be ordered online by clicking here.
