Lafayette Sanctioned Still Target Shoot goes off with a bang
The NWTF held its first Sanctioned Still Target Shoot at the Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club on Sunday, June 22, in Lafayette, Ind. The shoot allowed competitors in five classes to shoot for prizes and offered shooters an opportunity to qualify to shoot in the World Wild Still Target Championship at the Turkey Shoot to be held at the Meadows National Gun Club in Forsyth, Ga. in August.
Wright's, Inc. of Pinckneyville, Ill., a leading manufacturer of turkey choke tubes, was the event sponsor. Prizes included many NWTF items and a grand prize of a Charles Daly semi-auto, full-camo turkey gun with a Wright's choke tube.
"It could not have been a better day. We scored almost 200 targets in five classes that included JAKES, Ladies, Open Classes and Hunter Class," said event coordinator Clark Bush. "Our committee, including Randy Showalter, Senior Regional Director for Indiana, did a great job and all the shooters enjoyed the event. We really appreciated all the support from the NWTF headquarters, community support and media coverage from the local newspaper. We're looking forward to the Grand National Shoot and to this event next year."
