The Porter Wagoner/JAKES National Conservation Field Days event attracts young people from all around the nation to come together and experience the outdoors for one weekend each year. Held at Hickory Knob State Park in South Carolina, the national event offers young people the chance to learn about camping, fishing, conservation, turkey calling, shooting, muzzleloading, archery and other exciting facets of the outdoors. They also get the chance to meet young people like themselves from across the country who share in their interest in the outdoors and conservation. You won't want to miss out on the annual event. To learn how you and your child can share in this exciting weekend call 1-800-THE-NWTF.
Like the national event, JAKES Conservation Field Days Events are held around the country to introduce children to the great outdoors and the thrill of outdoor sports. JAKES field days are sponsored by local chapters of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Through fun and exciting hands-on projects, JAKES learn the importance of natural resource conservation and important outdoor skills. All youth 17 years and younger are invited to attend a JAKES Conservation Field Days Event in their area.
To host a JAKES Field Days Event, contact your local chapter of the NWTF, a regional director in your area, or the NWTF at 1-800-THE-NWTF.
