JAKES Event Volunteering
One of the most rewarding ways to volunteer is to help younger kids learn about the outdoors, wildlife conservation and hunting. With more than 600 JAKES events held by NWTF's local chapters throughout North America, finding an event close to you is pretty easy. Go to the NWTF's Web site at: www.nwtf.org and choose your state from the pull down menu on the right of the page. When you find a JAKES event close to you, call the JAKES chairperson or the chapter president and tell them you'd like to volunteer.

You can do a variety of tasks to help make the event a success. If you're a good archer, offer to help at the archery station. If you're a great tracker, offer to teach the kids how to track an animal. Even if you just love to take pictures or like to cook, there's a place for you at a JAKES event. Volunteer to take photographs and write up a little story for your newspaper about the event. Anyway you can get involved will help the future of conservation.

Share what you know about the outdoors with someone younger than you, and see them light up with excitement as you introduce them to wonderful new adventures.
