NWTF At-A-Glance: NWTF 5-Star Program

The NWTF's state and local chapters are committed to supporting the organization's mission. Through the Five-Star Program they are recognized for giving something back to the volunteers and their communities, involving families in wildlife conservation, protecting the privilege to hunt, developing a stronger relationship between the state and local chapters and building a better future.

A chapter that receives five-star designation has met the following criteria:

  3. Made a commitment to the future of our youth through the JAKES®/Xtreme JAKES Program by:

    • Involving young people in outdoor learning by funding local chapter JAKES®/Xtreme JAKES events.

    • Introducing the outdoors into the classroom by providing a minimum of one JAKESŪ Education Box for each local chapter to distribute to area schools.

    • Invested in youth with a commitment to a high school scholarship program by:

      • Providing funding to each NWTF local chapter for scholarships.

      • Offering $1,000 state/provincial academic scholarships for students demonstrating a commitment to conservation.

      • Selecting a state/provincial winner to be considered for the $10,000 national scholarship.

  4. Chapter volunteers agree to participate in one of the following:

    • 4-H Shooting Sports Program
