Vern Ross of Camp Hill, Pa.
An NWTF member since 1982, Ross is an active member of the NWTF Michaux-Yellow Breeches chapter, headquartered in Carlisle, Pa.
Ross is director of the Wildlife for Everyone Endowment Foundation, which he founded in 2005 to conserve Pennsylvania's wildlife. He served as Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Game Commission for seven years and also advised former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge on wildlife and hunting issues. Ross was also an outdoor writer for 20 years.
A lifelong hunter, Ross credits his father for teaching him what hunting and conservation were all about and for getting him hooked on turkey hunting. He looks forward to working with the NWTF's Board of Directors to move the Federation forward during his first term as a board member.
"To me, serving the NWTF is the ultimate service of my life," Ross said. "Working outdoors is what makes my heart beat, and I'm honored to work with the Federation to help get more families and youth involved in the outdoors."
Ross and his wife, Carolyn, have been married 48 years. They have three children and five grandchildren.
