OKLAHOMA — The Oklahoma State Chapter of the NWTF committed $184,024 for fiscal year 2012 to conservation, education, outreach and other projects.

$47,525 will fund seven habitat enhancement projects, two equipment purchases and a wild turkey research project. The chapter will donate $40,000 to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation toward the purchase of a new wildlife management area.

The chapter also dedicated $10,000 to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation to support the National Archery in the Schools Program.

The chapter also will utilize up to $8,100 of the state's NWTF Outreach Fund to support JAKES (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship), Women in the Outdoors and Wheelin' Sportsmen outreach programs within Oklahoma.

The NWTF will support many projects that are in partnership with government agencies, conservation groups and landowners. NWTF's Oklahoma chapters have raised and spent more than $1.1 million on projects in the state.
