Nebraska — The Nebraska State Chapter of the NWTF committed $148,600 in Hunting Heritage Super Fund money in Nebraska this year to conservation, education, outreach and other projects.

The largest single commitment is $48,300 to fund forest stand improvements, totaling 142 acres, on the Anderson Bridge Wildlife Management Area and the Schlagel Creek Wildlife Management Area in Cherry County, Neb.

The chapter allocated $18,850 to support education and outreach efforts, including JAKES (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship), Women in the Outdoors and Wheelin' Sportsmen outreach programs, local and state scholarships, and Wild About Turkeys Education Boxes for local schools and NWTF chapters. Funding also included commitments to support local 4-H Shooting Sports programs and National Archery in the Schools Program statewide.

The chapter also dedicated $15,000 to support grassland restoration efforts on Calamus Reservoir Wildlife Management Area in Loup County in central Nebraska.
