NWTF Texas to invest more than $223,000 in state projects in 2012

Texas — The Texas State Chapter of the NWTF has committed $223,429 in Texas this year to conservation, education, outreach and other projects.

The largest single commitment is $54,895 to fund projects including improving upland habitat, managing vegetation and purchasing habitat equipment.

The chapter allocated $42,650 to support education initiatives and provide scholarships for youth.

The chapter also dedicated $35,042 to preserve our hunting heritage through NWTF's JAKES (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship), Women in the Outdoors, Wheelin' Sportsmen, 4-H Shooting Sports, the National Archery in the Schools Program and other projects.
