NWTF Gives Nationwide Corporate Achievement Award

NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Nationwide Insurance's now-famous "Nationwide is on your side" slogan applies to homeowners, drivers and, for nearly a decade, wild turkeys. For their support of wild turkey conservation, the company has been given the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) Corporate Achievement Award.
Nationwide was recognized with the award during the 38th annual NWTF Convention and Sport Show in Nashville, Tenn. MidwayUSA was the official show sponsor.
"We are honored to receive the Corporate Achievement Award from the National Wild Turkey Federation as we greatly value the organization's partnership and its members," said Kurt Ely, vice president of strategic partnerships at Nationwide. Presented annually by the NWTF, the Corporate Achievement Award recognizes the outstanding work and dedication corporate partners have displayed in conserving wildlife, habitat and other natural resources. The NWTF determined this year's award winners based on how their work strengthens the organization's new Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative.
"Nationwide not only continues to grow their financial support of NWTF, they also align with NWTF's mission delivery across all levels," said Doug Saunders, NWTF senior vice president of marketing. "Their customers become NWTF supporters, and our members become Nationwide customers. Ours is a valuable partnership."
Nationwide bolsters the NWTF through various outlets including sponsorship, participation in the organization's Hunting Heritage Banquet fundraising program and presence at the NWTF's national convention. Nationwide also helps reach and relay the NWTF's message to people who value hunting and conservation.
Nationwide offers NWTF members exclusive discounts on insurance products and sets a strong example of how important partnerships are to conserving wildlife habitat and preserving our nation's hunting heritage. In 2014, Nationwide's partnership will generate significant funds for the NWTF to support its hunting and conservation programs.
The NWTF's Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative is a charge that mobilizes science, fundraising and devoted volunteers to give the NWTF more energy and purpose than ever. Through this national initiative, NWTF has committed to raising $1.2 billion to conserve and enhance more than 4 million acres of essential upland wildlife habitat, create at least 1.5 million new hunters and open access to 500,000 new acres for hunting, shooting and outdoor enjoyment. Without hunters, there will be no wildlife or habitat. The NWTF is determined to Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.
