EDGEFIELD, S.C. — John L. Brown Jr. has joined the National Wild Turkey Federation as executive producer and will oversee NWTF's "Turkey Call" and "Get in the Game" television shows, which air on the Pursuit Channel.
Brown, an NWTF silver life sponsor member, brings 17 years of experience in the outdoor industry to the NWTF.
He was previously employed as an associate producer for the NWTF and has worked with Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, Mossy Oak, National Rifle Association, Nikon, North American Hunting Club, Primos Hunting Calls, Realtree, Thermacell and Winchester.
"John is an award-winning industry veteran who knows what the NWTF is all about because he's been part of our family for more than a decade. His experience, creativity and attention to detail will help us improve our television programming and other audio-visual productions as we tell the NWTF story and support our staff and volunteers throughout North America," said Burt Carey, NWTF editorial director.
Born and raised in Gilbert, La., Brown and his wife Jennifer moved to Edgefield, S.C., in 1999. He serves on the Dixie Youth Baseball, Inc. Board of Directors, coaches summer youth baseball and junior varsity softball at Francis Hugh Wardlaw Academy in Johnston, S.C.
In his spare time, Brown enjoys taking his three children − Brice (13), Carter (10) and Campbell (7) − hunting and fishing.
"Both Jennifer and I feel so blessed to be a part of the NWTF family once again. Personally, I'm very excited about the opportunity to work alongside the most talented and dedicated individuals in the conservation world," said Brown.
