Steve Sams Receives Outstanding Citizen Wildlife Contributor Award
NWTF member Steve Sams received the prestigious Outstanding Citizen Wildlife Contributor Award at the annual meeting of the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies in early July. Sams has served as the board president for the Arizona State Chapter of the NWTF and is a leader in Arizona's Hunting and Angling Heritage Work Group.
Sams has worked tirelessly and with many organizations to improve relations among hunting heritage groups in Arizona. He was a character participant in the first youth turkey camp in Arizona that combined resources and shared the credit amongst sportsmen's groups. Since then, he has continued to improve the camp and the youth turkey hunt.
Sams is a passionate hunter education instructor, a natural leader and an advocate for combining efforts of hunting heritage organizations to achieve a common goal. His dedication and devotion are valuable assets to the NWTF and Arizona hunters.
