Grand National Calling Contests
Recognized as the leader in wild turkey conservation and hunting, it is only natural that the NWTF also serves as the leading sanctioning body for turkey calling contests. At each contest, entrants compete with one another before a panel of judges as they attempt to reproduce the many calls of the wild turkey. Here, hunters and turkey enthusiasts from all over North America, whether competing in local contests or the Wild Turkey Bourbon/NWTF Grand National Calling Championships,
take turkey calling to a new level.

Wild Turkey Bourbon/NWTF Grand National Calling Contest
If it struts like a turkey and gobbles like a turkey, it must be a turkey, right? Well, almost — it could be a flock of world-class turkey callers taking center stage at the Wild Turkey Bourbon/NWTF Grand National Turkey Calling Championships.

Calling Divisions: Senior—This is the top-honored division. Contestants must be NWTF members, 21 years old or older and must have won an open, state, friction, former Grand National or World calling contest. Team Challenge—This is where some of the most famous turkey hunting duos have been seen. Teams of two are made up of callers who are at least 21 years old and NWTF members. Rare Breed Champion of Champions—The best of the best come to compete here. Contestants must be 21 years old or older, NWTF members and be a previous Grand National or World calling contest winner. Spit, Drum and Gobbling Show—A lighthearted, entertaining contest as competitors assume the identy of a cagy old gobbler. Contestants must be at least 21 years old and NWTF members. Owl Hooting—Owl hooting is one of the most time-honored locator calls, and here, contestants go head-to-head to see who can deliver the kind of call that might make a gobbler give up his position. Contestants must be at least 21 years old and NWTF members. Gobbling:—Gobbling is what every turkey hunter loves to hear in the pre-dawn hours during turkey season. In this competition, particiipants do their best impression of a wild turkey tom, doing what he does best.Contestants must be at least 21 years old and NWTF members. |
To compete in the Senior or Friction division, participants must place first in an NWTF-sanctioned open, state, national or world contest between January 1, 2007 and January 26, 2008.
Those who wish to participate in the Team Challenge, Owl Hooting, Gobbling or Spit, Drum and Gobble competition need only to register by the deadline.

NWTF Intermediate Grand National Calling Contest
The Intermediate division of the Grand National Calling Championships is for competitors who aren't quite old enough to compete in the Senior division, but too old to compete in the Junior division. Contestants must be 16-20 years old on Feb. 23, 2008 and a member of the NWTF.
In order to qualify, competitors need only to apply by Jan. 26, 2008.

NWTF Junior Grand National Calling Contest
The Junior Division of the Grand National Calling Championships is for young callers who want to strut their stuff on stage. To participate in the junior competition of the Grand National Calling Championships, participants must be 15 years old or younger on Feb. 24, 2008.
To participate, contestants need only apply by the registration deadline.
