To NWTF members:

While efforts to stop the confirmation of Cass Sunstein fell short, your voice was heard with great success.

Sunstein, President Obama's pick to head the powerful Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, has been confirmed by the House and Senate.

According to our sources in Washington D.C., our efforts to protect our hunting tradition were worthwhile. By putting pressure on Sunstein's confirmation and making the public and elected officials aware of his positions, he will be less likely to push an agenda that would negatively affect the hunting, fishing and agricultural industries.

Your efforts made a difference.

Several senators talked with Sunstein and he has been educated about the toll his "theories" would take on hunters, fishermen and farmers. Sunstein says he now has a much better understanding of animal agriculture and our country's sporting tradition.

Thank you for spending your time sending e-mails and working the phones about this issue. It is up to all of us to continue the fight to maintain our hunting rights. Part of that fight is keeping up with how your legislators vote and letting them know when you don't approve of their vote.

The NWTF will stay vigilant to make you aware of key issues and protect your rights as sportsmen. We may call on you again from time to time to fight to protect our hunting heritage.

Please forward the link to this page to other NWTF members and thank them for their help on this issue.

Sincerely,
