In 1973, I was only four years old, and the only "Big Bird" in my life was a tall yellow one that roamed the sidewalks on Sesame Street. Nearly a thousand miles away, however, in Edgefield, S.C., a group of turkey enthusiasts, including Sam Crouch and John Kemp, convinced Tom Rodgers, an insurance manager and outdoor writer from Fredericksburg, Va., to move his organization, the National Wild Turkey Federation, to S.C. Rodger's vision was to build a national organization to help the struggling wild turkey.

Get in the Game is the NWTF's latest publication for people with a passion for hunting and managing their land.
