Week of August 18: Some Habits are Hard to Break
Travel with "Turkey Country" as we head to Illinois in search of Eastern wild turkeys with NWTF volunteer Jim Goldman and NWTF staff member Frank Nix. Also, learn how to key in on wild turkey habits for a successful spring hunt. Finally, don't miss our expert discussion on the toughest turkey hunting terrain.
Week of August 11: The Next Generation of Hunters
"Turkey Country" travels to the Texas panhandle this week on a special father/daughter hunt with NWTF volunteers Matt and Bree Scarborough. You also don't want to miss our special segment on Families Afield, where you'll find out what the NWTF and their partners are doing to remove youth hunting barriers around the nation.
Week of August 4: "So Many Choices"
This week, "Turkey Country" heads to Oklahoma to hunt with NWTF volunteers Mike White and Christi Fite and NWTF Regional Director Gary Purdy. See if windy conditions and a skunk with a bad attitude can prevent our hunters from taking some vocal Rio Grande gobblers.
Week of July 28: Everything's Bigger in Texas
We're heading to the Lone Star State in search of Rio Grande turkeys this week on "Turkey Country." NWTF Vice President of Operational Support Bob Fountain, along with NWTF volunteers Danny Sparks and Donnie Pope hunt the Mayfield Ranch in south Texas. We'll also check in with Dr. James Earl Kennamer, NWTF senior vice president of conservation programs, to find out why the Rio is among turkey hunters' most prized trophies.
Week of July 21: Peach State Gobblers
This week, "Turkey Country" travels to Georgia in search of Eastern wild turkeys with NWTF volunteer Richard Wansley. While there, we'll visit with NWTF conservation staff to learn how national and regional habitat programs accelerate wild turkey restoration, and get calling tips from Woodhaven pro staffer Sadler McGraw.
Week of July 14: Doc Robinson
Travel with "Turkey Country" to the small South Carolina town known as Ninety-Six. There, NWTF volunteer Dr. Dan Robinson hunts with John Adkins, former NWTF director of video services. Then, get tips from NWTF shotgun expert, Rhett Simmons, on the best choke tube for your shotgun. Also, learn the proper way to load your muzzleloader.
