Farrington Recognized for Conservation, Hunting Heritage Legacy

Dedicated National Wild Turkey Federation volunteer and stalwart conservationist Jim Farrington of Rio, Wisconsin, received statewide prestige from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as the recipient of the agency’s Southern District Special Recognition Award, given for his outstanding promotion of Wisconsin’s hunting heritage and wildlife habitat.

NWTF to Reopen Hunting Heritage Super Fund

The National Wild Turkey Federation Hunting Heritage Super Fund, established in 1985, is critically important to funding wild turkey research, wildlife habitat conservation efforts and other NWTF mission-related projects. As of Sept. 1, 2022, the Super Fund will fully reopen, with no limitation on deposits or expenditures of funds raised from local fundraising activities.

Sharp Recognized by Michigan Legislature

NWTF Announces Funding for New Wild Turkey Research Projects

The announcement comes during the 12th National Wild Turkey Symposium, a gathering of state and federal wildlife agencies, wild turkey researchers, land managers and enthusiasts focused on wild turkey habitat and population restoration.

While the news in concerning, it is not unexpected and the National Wild Turkey Federation and it agency partners, specifically the NWTF Technical Committee, have been closely monitoring the spread of HPAI.
