EDGEFIELD, S.C. — Diversified Energy Company recently invested $100,000 into the NWTF, funds that will be used for national conservation delivery and outreach programs.
“Diversified Energy is impressed with the breadth of the NWTF’s mission delivery,” said Al Clark, NWTF national director of development. “Their company is excited to bolster our efforts with a monetary gift, but they are also looking forward to getting their staff involved as volunteers at our outreach events. We are immensely thankful for Diversified Energy’s generosity and volunteerism, and we are looking forward to a continued partnership.”
The NWTF will use half of Diversified Energy’s gift toward its conservation projects and partnerships across the East, including the White Oak Initiative, stewardship agreements on multiple national forests, habitat enhancement projects and more.
The remaining funds will impact NWTF JAKES events in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee and Ohio, where Diversified Energy has operations. This year alone, these events will collectively provide more than 1,000 youths with outdoor opportunities and experiences.
“In addition to our mission, what allures partners to invest in the NWTF is our ability to leverage funds and turn, on average, $1 into $5,” Clark said. “We are proud to use the generous gifts of others to make the greatest impact.”
In addition to their generous donation, Diversified Energy staff will partner members of its team with NWTF volunteers at outreach events to become involved with the mission to conserve the wild turkey and preserve our hunting heritage.
“We are pleased to partner with the National Wild Turkey Federation as part of our expanded commitment to positively impact our environment and the local communities in which we live and work every day,” said Rusty Hutson Jr., co-founder and CEO of Diversified Energy. “Our employees, myself included, enjoy the outdoors and all that it offers, so our conservation-focused contribution is a natural fit with our desire to support biodiversity efforts in our operating areas. The NWTF’s ability to touch the lives of so many youths while multiplying the value of financial contributions through strong relationships compounds the impact of our donation. We are excited to go beyond giving financially to see our conservation-committed and supportive employees partner with the NWTF to accomplish its goals.”
Diversified Energy is an independent energy company focused on acquiring and enhancing primarily natural gas producing assets and related midstream infrastructure in the U.S. onshore, with operations in the Appalachia Basin and the central U.S. of Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
About the National Wild Turkey Federation
When the National Wild Turkey Federation was founded in 1973, there were about 1.3 million wild turkeys in North America. After decades of work, that number hit a historic high of almost 7 million turkeys. To succeed, the NWTF stood behind science-based conservation and hunters' rights. Today, the NWTF is focused on the future of hunting and conservation through its Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative. Since 2012, this 10-year initiative has already eclipsed goals of conserving or enhancing more than 4 million acres of essential wildlife habitat, recruiting or retaining more than 1.5 million hunters and opening access to more than 500,000 acres for hunting and other recreation opportunities. This critical work will continue to impact wildlife habitat and our great outdoors in the final year of the initiative.
