OVERALL COST ESTIMATE: $200,000 (NWTF contribution: $30,000)

  • Maintain and improve critical oak/hickory forests
  • Establish a diverse age of trees across the forest’s Ironton District
  • Reduce invasive species to promote oak and hickory regeneration
  • Thin timber to improve acorn production, growth and health
  • Improve nesting and brood habitat, and mast production for wild turkeys, white-tailed deer and a variety of forest songbirds
