Internship opportunities available in Hoosier National Forest

The NWTF and the Hoosier National Forest combined funds to create internships each summer to help students interested in habitat enhancement.

Interns gain valuable experience in operating equipment, spraying herbicide, seeding and identifying native and non-native species of wildlife plants. Interns will work closely with district biologists and wildlife technicians on the Hoosier National Forest to learn skills that will help them land full-time employment in the natural resources field while developing diverse habitat for the Eastern wild turkey.

The NWTF has contributed approximately $29,000 out of the project’s total $59,000 since 2015.
