Longleaf Pine Restoration in Southeast Georgia

The NWTF contributed $5,000 to improve longleaf pine ecosystems on public lands in southeast Georgia along the Altamaha River Corridor. Work included controlled burns on 8,423 acres in 2019 and will include additional burns in 2020 to benefit wild turkeys and gopher tortoises.

Georgia Department of Natural Resources was a major partner in this project’s success.
