NWTF helping to provide conservation job opportunity in Arkansas

The NWTF contributed $24,415 out of a total $188,215 for the creation of a new, full-time, term-limited position with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in NWTF’s Mississippi Delta Focal Landscape.

Located in Lonoke, Arkansas, the new position will monitor, evaluate and plan conservation activities for the Wetland Preserve Program and the Wetland Reserve Easements on private hardwood plantations in the delta of Arkansas

In addition, the new position will evaluate the status of WRE and WRP plantings, assist partners with outreach efforts and provide technical assistance to promote early successional habitat that benefits quail, turkeys, neotropical migrant birds and pollinators.
