DESCRIPTION: Controlled burning on 290 acres in Pennsylvania’s Sproul State Forest aims to address mature scrub oak, which last burned during a 1970 wildfire • The 2018-20 Wolf Run Project, combined with active burning in the Allen Dam unit, kicks off treatment of 1,500-2,000 acres during the next 15-20 years • Herbicide treatments and planting of native warm-season grasses and forbs are scheduled • Burn plans do not include food plots or day-to-day timber sales of the area • Targeted wildlife includes wild turkeys, golden-winged warblers, elk and deer
