Ammo for the Turkey Woods and More: SHOT Show 2026
Throwbacks, collabs and new offerings — the industry's leading ammunition companies at SHOT Show 2026 had a variety of loads on display.
Here are a couple standout products that caught our attention for the spring woods and beyond.
Federal Premium x Realtree Grand Slam and Heavyweight TSS Turkey Loads
Federal is helping Realtree celebrate its 40th anniversary with these limited-edition loads that features Realtree’s iconic Original and Legacy camo patterns on the packaging. This exclusive is available in Federal’s Heavyweight TSS turkey loads, which features Realtree’s Legacy pattern, and Federal's Grand Slam turkey load, which features Realtree’s Original pattern.
Federal Rob Roberts
In addition to collaboration with Realtree, Federal Premium is also teaming up with Rob Roberts Custom Gun Works. The folks at Federal worked closely with Roberts, using his pattern analyzers to develop what he considers his ideal turkey loads. These loads will be available in both 12-gauge and 20-gauge. One of the key features is the use of spherical buffer — something Federal has historically only used in their custom shop loads. That spherical buffer helps increase pellet count within a 10-inch circle, resulting in more consistent, effective patterns.
HEVI-13s
HEVI-Shot's re-launched HEVI-13 is a throwback load from when HEVI-Shot was the first to produce denser-than lead options that eventually led to TSS becoming the standard for the most lethal turkey loads on the market. It was great to see it on display at SHOT Shot. We recently reviewed the product in depth.
Federal Stacked Duck Load
With stacked loads growing in popularity among waterfowlers, Federal’s Ultra Steel stacked loads are designed to deliver fuller patterns by combining smaller pellets with larger shot sizes, increasing lethality and effective range while maintaining consistent performance downrange.
Winchester Longbeard Tungsten
For hunters preparing for the upcoming spring turkey season, Winchester’s Long Beard Tungsten ammunition offers a high-performance option built to push turkey loads to the next level. Featuring ultra-dense 17 g/cc tungsten shot, the load is said to deliver tight patterns, increased penetration and extended effective range, making it a serious contender in the turkey woods.
Federal Premium Terminal Ascent
Federal's new Terminal Ascent Handgun ammunition line is built to deliver excellent accuracy and terminal performance for hunters who carry a handgun into the field. The three new handgun-hunting rounds feature a bonded, nickel-plated bullet design to increase weight retention, while a unique elastomer-filled nose cavity reliably expands. The new loads include 10mm Auto 203-grain, 357 Mag. 157-grain, and 44 Rem. Mag. 235-grain.
Winchester Ballistic Silvertips
Winchester highlighted its Ballistic Silvertips at SHOT Show this year, stating that the load provides hunters immediate knockdown and extreme precision, and the polymer tip resists deformation, maximizes long-range performance and promotes expansion.
Hornady .22 Creedmore
Hornady's had its new .22 Creedmoor in its Precision Hunter, V-Match, Match and Superformance on display at SHOT Show this year. Hornady said these loads are designed for extreme accuracy and speed in varmint hunting, predator control and long-range target shooting, offering minimal wind drift and low recoil.
