Scott Fox

Fox and his daughter traveled to Wyoming in the spring of 2023 and harvested this beautiful bird.

Caeden W. Sehested

Sehested harvested his first turkey May 11, 2024, at 32 years old. Sehested said the turkey appears to have somehow lost (and since begun to regrow) exactly half of his tail fan feathers. The bird weighed 17.5 pounds, but had a 9.5-inch beard and 1-inch spurs.

Mary Woltz

At 72 years young, Woltz shot her 23-pound bird in Missouri. The bird had an 11-inch beard and 1 3/8-inch spurs.

Mitchell Jennings (right)

Jennings shot this bird opening morning in 2024. The bird weighed 22 pounds, had a 9-inch beard and 1-inch spurs.

Erin Reeder, Lynn Shives and Joe Helser

During Maryland’s brief but brisk winter, with temperatures plunging into the teens, Shives successfully lured in a group of jakes. Though there were no longbeards in sight, the morning was one they will talk about for years to come.

Kyle Buchanan

Buchanan’s first turkey after nearly 10 years of turkey hunting with his buddy. Buchanan said this year he went solo and called it in himself. His grandpa passed away the fall before, and Buchanan said he believes grandpa sent this one for him, so he wasn’t truly hunting “solo.”
