It’s Been too Long

When’s the last time you went two years, 730 days or 17,520 hours without spending quality time with a good friend or a hunting compadre?

It leaves an emptiness in your soul; there’s a missing link that you feel to the core. That’s what it’s been like without the NWTF Convention and Sport Show since we last convened in February of 2020 in Nashville. We’ve missed it, and we’ve missed seeing you, our members and dedicated volunteers.

We did the best we could with the hand we were dealt in 2021 during the NWTF virtual convention, but it wasn’t the same. There’s no way around it. Come hell or high water, we’re doing everything we can to get together in less than two months for the NWTF’s 46th Annual Convention and Sport Show in Music City. If that don’t light your fire, your wood’s wet, as they say.

Sure, staging the convention is a lot of work, it costs a pretty penny and it’s a long week for many of us, but the NWTF staff does a great job putting together a show worthy of celebrating our incredible volunteers and partners. You deserve it, and we all deserve several days together after the last two years apart, separated from the people who know us best.

Whatever it takes — plane, train, automobile or even one of those fancy electric bikes folks use to turkey hunt public land. Get your tail fan to Nashville and help us celebrate an overdue gathering of the best group of outdoorsmen and women on the planet. We can’t put a spotlight on our conservation efforts, the hunt and the enjoyment of the great outdoors without you. Better yet, bring someone new this year, and invite as many of your friends as possible. It’s imperative we show up in force at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center (Feb. 16-20 for convention; Feb. 17-19 for the sport show) and connect with old friends and meet new ones. We’ve got two years’ worth of hunting stories built up and it’s time to share them, hear them and make plans for new ones … face to face.

If you’ve been to the NWTF convention, you know. If not, this is the year to make your first trip. View the latest details on lodging, events and more.

There’s just something about being among 50,000-plus NWTF members, wild turkey fanatics and folks who deeply care about what our outdoors will look like in the future. Don’t miss it.
