Celebrate Conservation and the Life-Changing Power of the Outdoors with NWTF’s 4th Annual Conservation Week

EDGEFIELD S.C. — For the fourth year, the National Wild Turkey Federation is hosting its Conservation Week — Sept. 22-28 — to bring awareness and excitement around natural resources conservation and the critical role hunters play in creating Healthy Habitats and Health Harvests. While the wild turkey is on everyone’s mind during the spring season, the NWTF’s conservation and hunting heritage efforts are a year-long endeavor. Conservation Week is an opportunity to put a spotlight on the organization’s continuous efforts for America’s beloved bird and the many far-reaching benefits the NWTF’s work for the wild turkey has on creating clean water, healthy forests and habitats, resilient communities and robust recreational opportunities.

“The NWTF’s mission to conserve the wild turkey and preserve our hunting heritage is not just our pledge for the spring months; it is a year-round endeavor that has an impact on our nation’s incredible natural resources,” NWTF co-CEO Jason Burckhalter said. “We want all who treasure our wildlife and wild places to help us celebrate our year-round successes and inspire others to join in the NWTF mission in their own communities.”

Throughout the NWTF’s 2024 Conservation Week, the organization will publish content centered around specific themes. For 2024, themes include water, habitat diversity, fire, turkey reproduction and hunter advocacy. Each day the NWTF will publish engaging content on its digital channels around these topics, such as landowner tips, videos, articles and more.

In addition, the NWTF challenges its members, volunteers and partners to share what they are doing for the wild turkey and our nation’s natural resources by using #NWTFconservationweek on their social media channels.

Stayed tuned during this week to NWTF.org and the NWTF's social media channels for another year of celebrating the life-changing power of the outdoors.
