Through this program, local NWTF chapters award scholarships to outstanding students in their communities. Local chapter winners may also compete at the state level, with the potential to advance to the national scholarship selection. The NWTF awards one exceptional student each year with the $10,000 national Dr. James Earl Kennamer Scholarship.

"Investing in the next generation of America's conservation leaders is a powerful way to move the NWTF mission forward," said Mandy Harling, NWTF national director of education and outreach programs. "By providing nearly $6 million in academic scholarships to date, the NWTF has supported students across the nation who are excelling in academics, committed to our mission and are our future conservation leaders."

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements and submit all application materials for consideration. For eligibility requirements, state-specific deadlines and to apply, visit the NWTF application portal.

Named after Dr. James Earl Kennamer, NWTF’s former chief conservation officer, this scholarship honors his dedication to wildlife conservation and his pivotal role in advancing the NWTF’s conservation mission across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
