Participants will arrive on the evening of Friday, June 13 and kick off the weekend by connecting with fellow attendees around a campfire.
The next day will feature a full schedule of hands-on activities designed to engage, challenge and inspire. Attendees can choose from a ropes course, outdoor cooking class, caving, horseback riding and a guided hike. For those looking to unwind, the on-site pool will be open all day. The camp’s lake will also be available for kayaking and canoeing. Fishing is also available, but you must bring a valid license and your own fishing gear.
“Events like these are so important because it gives women a chance to try new outdoor activities while being surrounded by a strong support system,” said Abbie Shireman, Pennsylvania NWTF R3 Coordinator. “They are also an awesome opportunity for women to connect and meet other women with similar interests.”
With such a wide variety of offerings, participants can tailor their experience to focus on what they enjoy while building community and embracing NWTF’s vision: A nation united by the life-changing power of the outdoors.
“Women will get to experience firsthand that NWTF doesn’t have to be a group just for men, and it doesn’t have to be just for hunters,” said Shireman. “I’m really looking forward to the one-on-one time this event offers,” she said. “Sitting around a campfire, sharing stories and building relationships is something you don’t always get to do at banquets. I’m excited for a slower, more intentional event surrounded by nature.”
