Thirty women gathered at Two Brews in Abbeville, South Carolina, to attended the NWTF SC WITO brunch and share in the fellowship of like-minded women.

Dr. Jennifer D. Stanislaus, of Palmetto Pain Management in Columbia, SC was the guest speaker.  She spoke about overcoming adversity as a first-generation American citizen. The event also highlighted five women-owned businesses — Unleash Fun, Ears by Courtney, Bemer Independent Distributor, Healthy Cells and Sosebee Mortuary & Crematory.

“We live up to our full potential by embracing our strengths, acknowledging our accomplishments and reframing our self-perceptions from one of self-doubt to one of empowerment," Stanislaus said.

Two Brews provided a beautiful intimate atmosphere while also providing exceptional service and delicious food — chicken and waffles, sausage, praline bacon, fruits, veggies and more. Two wonderful NWTF SC members, Larry Deas and Matt McLain, tended to the ladies at the bar providing endless mimosas and bloody marys.

The entire group enjoyed mingling with one another. The ladies spent time bidding on one-of-a-kind live and silent auction items with one lucky lady win a Sig Sauer firearm that was the door prize.

“It’s more important than ever that we change the way WITO is viewed," said Billie McCarter, NWTF SC women in the outdoors coordinator. "Women in the Outdoors is not just for women who hunt, fish, or love the outdoors. WITO is for any female member who believes in conservation of the wild turkey and preservation of our hunting heritage. You do not have to hunt to be a part of WITO events.’’

“As a non-hunter, I enjoyed the opportunity to participate in a ladies event to support the NWTF organization," attendee Karen Parks said. "More importantly the fellowship and chance to get to know so many inspiring women made the day. I look forward to joining future events.”

With the assistance of its dedicated volunteers and the backing of its esteemed board members, the NWTF SC State Chapter is diligently working to reshape the perception of WITO. This effort is exemplified through the organization's initiatives such as the Women’s Day Brunch, which aims to inclusively engage all women who are members of the NWTF. Thinking innovatively, the chapter is committed to creating opportunities that embrace the diversity of its female membership.
