July 8, 20223 min read

EDGEFIELD, S.C. — Country music, Rio Grande turkeys, first-time turkey hunters and new hunting adventures are the heart of the upcoming “Gobblers and Guitars: Texas Edition” digital video series from the National Wild Turkey Federation, Winchester Repeating Arms, Shine United and HuntStand.

Set to kick off the week of July 3, the three-part series will follow Nashville singer and songwriters Jordan Rowe, Whitney Duncan and Jenna LaMaster as they hit Mason, Texas, to chase Hill Country turkeys and share in the camaraderie of the outdoors.

“Sharing camp and hunting with Jenna, Jordan and Whitney was absolutely incredible as we got to share in their hunts and hear some great tunes,” said Pete Muller, NWTF communications director. “We also get to share their personal stories about their journeys in music, the outdoors and wildlife conservation through this upcoming film series.”

The avenue into the outdoor lifestyle is never a set path, and the same holds true for the musicians featured in “Gobblers and Guitars.”

Rowe, grew up hunting, while this was the first turkey hunt for Duncan and the first-ever hunt for LaMaster. Rowe, a south Georgia-native, grew up playing music and enjoying the outdoor lifestyle. He studied agribusiness at the University of Georgia and traveled back and forth to Nashville to intern at River House Artists and write music with the likes of Ray Fulcher, Thomas Archer and Cole Taylor. In 2019, Rowe moved to Nashville. His debut album “Bad Case of the Good Ole Boy” released in the summer of 2021 garnered acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, CMT and more. Rowe has toured with Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Cole Swindell, Riley Green, Chris Janson and more. Learn more at www.jordanroweofficial.com

Duncan, of west Tennessee, started in music at a young age and always knew it was something she wanted to pursue. While in high school, she signed a record contract and released a duet with Kenny Rogers titled “My World is Over.” In 2007, she participated in and placed fifth in “Nashville Star.” Duncan also has appeared on the reality television shows “Survivor: South Pacific.” Her recently released EP and title track of the same name, “I’m the Fire,” can be found on all major music streaming sites. LaMaster is a songwriter / artist. She grew up in northern California, spent time in Texas where she competed on the professional rodeo circuit and now lives in Nashville where she is signed to Sheltered Music. Her artistry is often described as “authentic country,” harkening back to some of her country music heroes like Patty Loveless, George Strait, Trisha Yearwood and Lee Ann Womack. She brings a fresh take to her songwriting while keeping the original integrity of those who had a strong influence on her. She is currently developing her music with Grammy Award-winner, Glenn Worf (performed with Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annies, Lee Ann Womack and David Nail) and legendary studio musician, Paul Franklin. LaMaster has also found time to write songs for other artists, penning her first two major label hits with Big Loud Record’s Ashland Craft, “Your Momma Still Does” and “Leavin’ You Again.” Learn more about LaMaster at www.jennalamaster.com
