Wearing camouflage in the spring turkey woods is an important step in not being spotted by a keen-sighted tom, and with a sea of different camouflage options to choose from, it can often be hard to decide. I am here to tell you that Nomad Outdoors’ Rub Line pant and shirt are a great option.

Upon first unboxing the shirt and pants, they both felt slightly stiff, but as I wore the garments, and after washing, they have continually become more comfortable. From chasing Osceolas in Florida to wearing around town and everything in between, Nomad’s Rub Line combo has been in heavy rotation this spring.

The fit is mostly true to size. I am 6’3, and the shirt in a large and the pants in a 34/32 fit perfectly. They're not baggy and not tight; they just fit well. If you are between two sizes, I would size up.

Both the shirt and pants are built from a midweight cotton and canvas blend, specifically 98% cotton and 2% spandex. The result is a durable, slightly stretchy and quiet fabric. Both the pants and shirt are available in Mossy Oak’s Greenleaf and Bottomland patterns. The midweight construction was appreciated during cool spring mornings (even in Florida), where that little bit of extra chill is suppressed by the fabric.

Later in the day, when temps got above 80, I switched to a lightweight, polyester top but still wore the Rub Line Field Pant well into the heat of the day and felt comfortable.

The functionality of the garments is straightforward; the shirt has two front chest pockets with velcro closures, great for carrying tags and extra mouth calls. The pants have the standard two rear and two side pockets. And on the right side, there is an additional zippered, roomy, low-profile cargo pocket that is perfect for a rangefinder, cell phone or other essentials.

Over the few weeks I’ve worn the combo, it continues to get softer and more broken-in. A funny anecdote: I had to sit down and set up super quick on some birds in the distance. I mistakenly chose a palm tree to lean against, and the boot of the trunk was digging into my back for over an hour. Despite my constant fidgeting, I was able to stay relatively quiet and otherwise comfortable thanks to wearing the Rub Line Field Pant.

After an early afternoon harvest in the heat, the Rub Line Field Pants kept me comfortable as we continued to work birds into the evening.

Being comfortable helps with patience, and patience helps kill more turkeys.

Overall, the Nomad Outdoors Rub Line Shirt and Pant combination is a quality and comfortable duo for those wanting to disappear in the woods this spring, or for those who simply want to wear quality-made camo year-round. The Rub Line garments are not overly engineered. They are just comfortable, quiet and well-constructed.

The MSRP on the Rub Line Field Shirt is $85, and the MSRP on the Rub Line Field Pant is $90.
