Recipe submitted to "Cooking Across Turkey Country" by: Lisa Densmore, Red Lodge, Mont.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
- ¼ teaspoon cumin
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup honey
- ½ can cranberry sauce (jelly style)
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Directions
Rub turkey with oil and roast as you normally would, with or without stuffing. Combine remaining ingredients to make a glaze. About 45 minutes before the turkey is done, paint the glaze all over the turkey. Repaint it every time you baste the turkey until it’s done. Recipe covers a 15-pound turkey.
FYI: Sweet Honey Fact: Honey is a healthy substitute for sugar in cooking and baking. You only need to use half the amount of honey compared to sugar. In other words, if a recipe calls for a cup of sugar, use a half-cup of honey.
